The School

The School of Sufi Teaching was founded by Shaykh Hazrat Asad Rasool (ra) in 1975 with the consent of his own Shaykh Maulvi Muhammad Said Khan (ra), and owing to His work we offer free instruction in the teachings of five main Sufi orders, the Mujaddidi which is regarded as being particularly suited to seekers at the present time, the Naqshbandi, the Chishti, Qadiri and Shadili. Our Grand Shaykh Hazrat Asad Rasool (ra) passed away on 7th November 2006,after 55 years of working indefatigably to expand knowledge of the teachings around the globe.

The Tradition of Sufi orders ensures that the work continues seamlessly, and Hazrat’s son and deputy Shaykh Hamid Hasan is now head of the Institute of the search for Truth and the School of Sufi Teaching and gives initiation, and guidance to all people on the path. The School of Sufi teaching over this period of time has expanded its branches around the globe with students in; Australia, Brazil, Bangladesh, Canada, Egypt, Ethiopia, Germany, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Tunisia, UK, Ukraine and the USA.

The School’s most important aim is to teach the practices so that all genuine seekers can access the profound benefits and blessings of the Sufi path and requires the student to be sincere and consistent in taking up the practices of meditation and recitation, This enables the student to become gradually more refined and to have a realization of their place in the world, and of their relationship to the Creator in previously unimagined ways.

The Practices are done in conformity with the Sunna of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) and have been judiciously refined by successive Sufi Shaykhs so that they are meaningful and effective in present societies. Importantly, a unique feature of our school is that to get access to what may be previously regarded as esoteric teachings it is not necessary to become a Muslim, as our aim is to bring some of the teachings to the West in a timely manner.
